Suspend or Reinstate Tracing

You suspend tracing on a Delayed Bag File when you have found a matching bag. WorldTracer then no longer searches for potential matches for the suspended Delayed Bag File.

You can suspend tracing for an On-Hand Bag if there's no Delayed Bag File, and you know the location of the passenger.

To suspend tracing for all attributes of all bags in the file, select Suspend all items.

Tips:

When you choose a system match from the Station Inbox, WorldTracer includes the Suspend transaction in the workflow.

Suspend Tracing in a Single Bag Delayed Bag File

Menu:

Passenger > Delayed Bag > Manage > display file > triple-dot > Suspend File

Bag > On-Hand Bag > Manage > display file > triple-dot > Suspend File

Note:

A configurable option automatically suspends tracing of a Delayed Bag File when a forwarded bag matches the passenger name and bag tag number in the Delayed Bag File. If activated, you don't need to manually suspend tracing.

Suspend Tracing in a Multi-Bag Delayed Bag File

When a Delayed Bag File contains multiple bags, and you locate only one of them, you can suspend tracing for the bag you have located.

WorldTracer asks you to select the bag attributes you want to suspend.

You must suspend all of the following elements of the bag, when present in the file:

  • Tag number

  • Color and type

  • Rush tag number

  • Brand information

  • Bag Contents

Tip:

Orange marks indicate when a bag has been suspended in a multi-bag file.

Reinstate (Unsuspend) Tracing

You should reinstate tracing in the following circumstances:

  • A bag arrives at your station, but it's not the correct bag for your passenger.

  • A bag has been forwarded to your station but it went missing during the reflight.

  • Tracing has been suspended in error.
